FROM EMPTY SERVER TO USABLE COMMUNITY

Set up your Discord server once, in the right order.

Choose the kind of community you are building, the outcomes it needs, and how protective the front door should be. Oracle turns those answers into a focused blueprint and executes only the operations you approve.

WHAT ORACLE CHECKS

A practical baseline without the channel sprawl

The builder favors a small, legible structure and explicit access boundaries. It creates dependencies in a predictable order and verifies the live result after execution.

01 · STRUCTURE

Focused categories and channels

Start with rooms that have a clear purpose for arrival, conversation, announcements, support, resources, events, or staff work.

02 · ACCESS

Ordered roles and visibility

Create the member and moderator baseline before dependent channels so private and read-only spaces inherit the intended permissions.

03 · SAFETY

Sensible guild and AutoMod defaults

Apply the selected verification, filtering, mention-spam, and harmful-content baseline without granting Administrator.

HONEST BOUNDARIES

The new-server path is deliberately different from Improve mode

A blank-canvas build and an existing-community audit require different safety assumptions. Oracle keeps those workflows separate so it does not overwrite intentional resources just because their names match a template.

NEW SERVER

Build an approved blueprint

Use a server you just created in Discord. Oracle checks for conflicting resources and builds the approved baseline step by step.

EXISTING SERVER

Audit before proposing changes

Use Improve mode for any established server. It begins read-only, preserves current structure, and makes only narrow reviewed fixes available.

A CONTROLLED WORKFLOW

The setup flow from interview to verified server

01

Shape the blueprint

Choose an archetype, priorities, moderation posture, and server name in plain language.

02

Connect an empty server

Create the server in Discord, install Oracle, and let the product inspect the target before planning.

03

Approve and follow progress

Review exact operations, execute in dependency order, handle Discord waits automatically, and verify the final configuration.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Frequently asked questions

Does Oracle create the Discord server itself?

No. Create an empty server in Discord first. Then answer Oracle’s short setup interview, connect that server, inspect the generated operations, and approve the build.

Can I use this on a busy existing server?

The new-server builder is intentionally conservative and expects an empty or nearly empty target. Use Improve mode for an existing community so Oracle audits what is already there instead of treating it as a blank canvas.

What will the setup create?

The plan can create the selected role, category, channel, safety, and Oracle AutoMod baseline in dependency order. The exact operations are shown before execution and checked again against live state.

Will Oracle request Administrator?

No. Oracle is designed around explicit Discord permissions and bot-role hierarchy. The bot role still needs to sit high enough to manage the resources included in an approved plan.

Why does new-server setup request Read Message History?

Setup posts starter content. During starter-message execution—including the first attempt and any retry or recovery—Oracle may inspect up to 50 recent messages in the approved destination channel only to reconcile the exact marker message authored by its bot. Unrelated content is not persisted; Improve audits and monitoring do not read messages.
